ELLENSBURG, WA -- Ellensburg and Kittitas County collected more awards for tourism promotion than any other

(WFEA) Convention & Expo, held March 16-18, 2014 in Olympia, WA.

Silver Awards include:
Bronze Awards include:
The Ellensburg Downtown Association also received Silver in the category of Grand Summit Award for Best Overall Promotional Campaign (under $75,000 event budget), for "Buskers in the Burg."
"These awards are an affirmation of tourism promotion here in Kittitas County," said Chamber C.E.O Jim Armstrong. "For years we've felt that we compete with the big guys for a fraction of the cost, and it's gratifying to have that confirmed."
"We should be proud of our community, events and volunteers," said Director of Tourism Amy McGuffin. "Most of the events at the conference are produced by large and very expensive production companies. For us to wind up in a group with SeaFair, Fremont Fair, Renton River Day, and Bumbershoot is a proud moment."
"The WFEA conference provided a great opportunity to share Ellensburg's successes, challenges, and opportunities with festival and event planners from around the northwest. I look forward to bringing a number of tools back to our community and implementing them in Ellensburg Downtown Association events like the Ellensburg Rodeo Hoedown in the Downtown, Buskers in the Burg, and Hometown Holidays."
